Barbara Nantais, 15 and her boyfriend Jim Alt, 17 decided to set up their sleeping bags in a secluded area at Torrey Pines Beach in San Diego, California on a warm summer night on August 13, 1978. What was supposed to be a romantic night under the stars ended in the brutal strangulation and mutilation of Barbara and the near death of her boyfriend Jim by an unknown attacker. To this day Barbara's murder remains unsolved.
