Germany, July 1989, a group of berry pickers found a heavily decomposed couple in the middle of "Die Göhrde" (northern Germany's largest Forest area). As police is investigating the double murder, they stumble, purely by chance, across another couple murdered less than half a mile away from the first double murder. Then in August 1989, 41 year old Birgit Meier vanished without a trace. Did she simply just run off? Police felt suicide was a consideration due to Brigit’s mental state over her impending divorce and increased drinking reported by family and friends, but no evidence or body could be found to support this possibility. Police focused on Birgit's estranged husband, but he was quickly cleared of any wrongdoings. Were the Göhrde murders and her disappearance connected? With no real leads or evidence to go on, the investigation quickly grew cold. It would take Police Officer, and also Birgit's brother, Wolfgang Sielaff, nearly 30 years to find out what exactly happened to his sister and "The Göhrde" murders.
